We were three Italian friends in Barcelona: Romano, the cook; Luca, the waiter; and Alberto, the customer. We shared a clear dream: to create something of our own, our own project where we could express our passion for Italian cuisine.

With little savings but plenty of determination, we started looking for a place to bring our idea to life. With the help of a small bank loan, we could have opened in a more central area of Barcelona, but when the banks' doors closed, we were forced to find… a plan B.

And that's how our name was born: Piano B.

Far from giving up, we transformed that obstacle into our identity. Our goal was always clear: to offer authentic Italian cuisine, respectful of tradition, but with a subtle Catalan influence that reflects the place where we decided to build our future.

To differentiate ourselves from other Italian restaurants in the area, we focus our set menu on freshly prepared starters made with high-quality ingredients. We specialize in Italian tapas and replace the classic pizza with pinsa romana, a unique, lighter, and easily digestible product.

We renovated the place ourselves, creating a space that reflects who we are: a balance between traditional and familiar Italian style. While many of our customers see it as a romantic spot, for us it has always been, above all, an authentic place.

Shortly after, Lorenzo, a chef who had come directly from Italy with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants, joined the project. He believed in our vision from the very beginning and helped us take a significant leap forward. Over time, his involvement and commitment led him to become a partner in the restaurant as well.

Today, years later, we remain true to our essence: maintaining high quality, attending to every detail, and offering a warm, welcoming, yet never intrusive atmosphere. Because if there's one thing we've learned along the way, it's that no matter what happens, we'll always find a solution.
